STEM TEACHER COURSEWORK
From 2011-2014, SD Bechtel Jr Foundation has given CSME a $125,000 grant for the FOUNDATIONAL SCIENCE COLLABORATION, to develop a sequence of undergraduate science classes in physics, chemistry, geosciences and biology for future K-8 teachers in partnership with CSU East Bay.
CSME also supports the development of: science coursework for a combined credential and MA in Elem Ed with a science emphasis; undergraduate secondary math teacher courses: an early field experience course and a senior capstone course; undergraduate STEM coursework patterns meeting state standards for teacher preparation.
