New C.Y. Chow Fund Established at CSME
The Center for Science and Mathematics Education is delighted to announce the creation of a new fund which provides support for students intent on a career teaching science or math and which will advance the work of the Center as a whole, through a generous, anonymous donation in the amount of $25,000 which was given to the University in November 2009.
The new C.Y. Chow Fund for the Training of Science and Math Teachers was established to honor the legacy of commitment to teaching which was one of the hallmarks of the life of Prof. C.Y. Chow. The fund will honor his memory, respect the values for which he stood, and continue the tradition of charitable giving in the areas of teaching and learning which the donors have begun in both the United States and China.
