College Track: Academic Math Tutor

Founded in 1997, College Track exists to help students, who have the desire but lack the resources and support, to attain higher education and fulfill their own best promise. We work with students from historically under-served populations: 99% of our students are of color and all come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • Tutor: Working in a traditional tutoring setting, in a room with 20-25 students, working with students at a ratio of about 4:1.
  • Study Groups Leader: Working with a small group of students on a particular subject area such as Biology or Chemistry or Algebra. This combines a small amount of direct instruction along with targeted homework help/tutoring.
  • Lead Tutor: Lead tutors are tutors with additional leadership responsibilities in the tutoring room, both among students and colleagues. See below for additional requirements and responsibilities.
