Summer Program Leader (Temporary) STEAM

Description of Position:Under the guidance of leadership staff, Summer Program Leaders will lead activities for young people in high quality and engaging activities that will focus on building skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math), literacy building, community involvement and leadership in a fun environment at Everett Middle School. This is a temporary position that will plan and lead daily program activities, facilitate group activities, assist in planning and chaperoning field trips, partner with schools and consultants, and help youth to coordinate a final event. The summer program will run June 3rd-July 18th, with a day of staff training on June 2nd.

First Sundays of the month are free at the Oakland Museum of California.  Pick up a treat for yourself or a loved one in the OMCA Store, or enjoy a lunch or snack in Blue Oak café. Take your pick and join an OMCA Docent for the Architecture Tour at 1 pm, the Gallery of California Art Tour at 2 pm, or the Gallery of California History Tour at 3 pm.

Summer BIOLOGY and/or CHEMISTRY Instructor

AACE Upward Bound at the Japanese Community Youth Council (JCYC) is a year-round, pre-college TRIO Program funded by the U.S. Department of Education. AACE Upward Bound serves: high school students from low-income families; and high school students from families in which neither parent holds a bachelor’s degree. The goal of AACE Upward Bound is to increase the rate at which participants complete secondary education and enroll in and graduate from institutions of postsecondary education.

Math Instructor for Summer Academic Achievement Program

College Track is a national non-profit organization that exists as the catalyst for change for under-resourced high school students who are motivated to earn a college degree. Our students are primarily low-income, ethnically diverse students who reflect the communities in which they live and who are drastically underrepresented at colleges and universities across the country. Through a comprehensive program of academic support and leadership training, College Track helps students successfully complete high school and enter and graduate from college.
