Science Supplemental Instruction
We are happy to announce that COSE offers one-unit Science (SCI) Supplemental Instruction courses to enhance learning in core lecture courses within the college.
The Science Supplemental Instruction (SI) courses are optional one-unit courses that support student learning in the corresponding primary courses. Students in a Science Supplemental Instruction course must be concurrently enrolled in the corresponding primary course. For example, any student enrolled in SCI 115, Science Concepts: Chemistry I must also be enrolled in Chemistry 115, General Chemistry I.
SI workshops are designed to promote understanding of key concepts and enhance student success in the corresponding course by means of student-centered discussion and problem solving. SI instructors utilize various teaching approaches to accommodate different learning styles and foster a collaborative learning community.
All SCI courses are listed in the online Schedule of Classes, and they begin during the second week of instruction. Feel free to contact the program director, Tatiane Russo-Tait () with any questions.
